This guide is the hub for all things Con Library Course Reserves.

Course Reserves

For Print Material and Physical Recordings (CDs, DVDs, etc.): Please remember to list only one item or copy of item per line, and include call numbers if applicable.

Here is a link to our Catalog!

Not Changing Anything?

Are you submitting the same list from previous years? We’ve got you covered! Please submit this form below and we can recover previous class reserve sheets and place them on reserve again.

Not sure if you need to change anything and want to look at your previous submission, I can send you it to look over again!

Scans

For Print Material to be scanned and put on Blackboard: All articles will be uploaded to the course’s specified Blackboard content area by the first day of classes. If you do not use Blackboard for your course content, please contact the Circulation Coordinator directly at goesebur@oberlin.edu to discuss your individual situation.

ONLY PORTIONS OF AN ITEM CAN BE SCANNED. We cannot scan an entire score, CD, or book. Please reference our Copyright Policy for Course Reserves.

Syllabus

If you would like to provide a syllabus in addition to these forms, they would be greatly welcomed! We want to make sure that everything your students need is available for them. Please submitted syllabi in the attached Google Form or email them directly to me at goesebur@oberlin.edu.

Digital Audio Reserves

For Streaming Reserve Recordings:

  • Non-audio digital files are available via Blackboard, or the instructor's preferred course content depository

  • Access to files on Blackboard is restricted to students enrolled in a given course

  • Streaming audio is made available for courses through Google Drive and links to Oberlin's online resources

These materials are linked through course syllabi submitted directly to Conservatory Library staff prior to the beginning of the semester.

To arrange streaming listening for your course reserves:

  1. Provide the Circulation Coordinator with a copy of your course syllabus and specify particular recordings in our catalog you wish to be provided for streaming (or we will supply a links to Naxos or other streaming resources based on your suggestions) Send syllabi using the form on the Form page of this guide or email the to Gwen Oeseburg at goesebur@oberlin.edu.
  2. We will return a hyperlink-populated document which you may add to your Blackboard (or Google Drive) course listing
  3. Students may then click on syllabus links to listen.

Please note that due to copyright considerations, only selections from albums may be processed for streaming listening. Whole albums may not be digitized for streaming.
