eBook Basics

Things to Watch For: 

  • Oberlin has eBooks in many different publishers - most you read through the browser (not Kindle)
  • Some eBooks have a limit on the number of users at one time
  • Sometimes you need to download Adobe Digital Editions to use the eBook 
    • Some eBooks have loan periods (you only get 21 days before the download expires) 
  • There are limits on the number of pages that can be printed or downloaded

Advice:  

Create a free account for yourself in eBook platforms to take advantage of features like saving to a bookshelf, highlighting, bookmarking, and note-taking
