The first museum in North America dedicated to Islamic arts, collects both historically significant and contemporary Muslim art. he permanent collection was assembled by Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan (1933–2003). New acqusitions come primarily from the private collections of Prince Amyn and His Highness the Aga Khan.
