ANNOUNCEMENTS

NEW ILL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM !

We have transitioned to a new ILL management system, with new webpages.  All existing ILL accounts using the ILLiad interface have been loaded into the new management system, using your library barcode number (e.g. 29362nnnnnnnnn) as your username.   (How do I activate my account?)

If this is your first visit to our ILL service, welcome!  Create your account and get borrowing!

Overview

When you need an item that is not available in the Oberlin College Libraries, we first recommend that you search the OhioLINK Library Catalog and the SearchOhio Catalog to see if there is an available copy.   You can borrow books, scores, volumes of periodicals, and audio and video recordings from other OhioLINK libraries by using the REQUEST option. Read more about borrowing from OhioLINK and SearchOhio or consult a circulation supervisor in any of the campus libraries.

If you are not able to get what you need from OhioLINK or SearchOhio, you may request it using our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service.  We are usually able to borrow materials from libraries outside Ohio and obtain copies (usually scans that are delivered to you electronically) of articles or sections of books.

Create an ILL account

Browse to the ILL requesting homepage and choose the Create Account tab..

As prompted, enter your first (given) and last (surname) name,

library barcode number (the number on the back of your ID, starting 29362),

create a password (passwords must be at least 9 characters with at least

one non-alphabetic character. The characters semicolon (;), colon (:),

apostrophe ('), and period (.) are not allowed) and

email address.

Once your account is created, you can sign in at ILL requesting homepage

and start making and managing your ILL requests, including checking

on the status of requests, accessing materials delivered electronically,

and requesting renewals.

Activate an existing account

Your Interlibrary Loan account username is your library barcode from the back of your Oberlin College ID or library card.   If you have created an account in the past, it has been imported into our new interface.  You will need to reset your password the first time you sign in..

  • Browse to the ILL requesting homepage.
  • select Set/reset password
  • enter your library barcode number (the number on the back of your ID, starting 29362)

You will receive a very generic email from Library Password Management at oclc.org with the subject Request to manage library password

Follow the link in the email and select a new password.   Once your password is created, you can sign in at the ILL requesting homepage and start making and managing your ILL requests, including checking on the status of requests, accessing materials delivered electronically, and requesting renewals.
